Install labels into printer<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Unpack printer and plug into power.<\/li><li>Load labels into printer. They go <strong>face up<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Roll yellow wheel in bottom of label compartment to lock the brackets width.<\/li><li>Check sensor: Move one notch to right ~1\/8 inch so sensor lines up with through-hole (2022 Beta labels: leave this at default location).<\/li><li>Close lid.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>2. Calibrate printer\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Press power on button and wait for it to turn green.<\/li><li>With printer turned on, press both <strong>Pause<\/strong> and <strong>X<\/strong> until calibration starts (about 4 seconds). Let it finish.<\/li><li>Press <strong>feed<\/strong> (center button) to feed a label. If it does not feed a single label, recalibrate.<\/li><li>When calibration is done, press <strong>Pause<\/strong> to unpause the printer if needed.<\/li><li>Note: If you cannot reliably feed a single label, eVisitor will probably not be able to print.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>3. Configure Windows<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Plug in USB cable. Driver usually loads automatically, give it some time.<\/li><li><strong>If it doesn&#8217;t load<\/strong>, get driver.<\/li><li>Manage, Preferences, Maintenance, <strong>Reset<\/strong> to set the driver to factory defaults .<\/li><li>Page Setup, Height: <strong>4.75 for Tab-Expiring<\/strong> (4&#8243; for Full or Standard Visitor Badges, 5.5&#8243; for Tandem).<\/li><li>Media Type: Leave on <strong>Labels with Gaps<\/strong>, or set to <strong>Lables with notches<\/strong> if needed. (2022 Beta labels: labels with black marks).<\/li><li><strong>Print test page.<\/strong><\/li><li>Note: If you cannot reliably print several test pages, eVisitor will probably not be able to print.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>4. Configure eVisitor<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Log into eVisitor<\/li><li>Settings, Devices: <strong>&#8220;Reset Printer settings to default&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Be sure your eVisitor template is for the correct size label. Typically 4&#8243;. Be sure your template type is correct. Tab is type 1<\/li><li>Test by printing a label from eVisitor.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>If you are NOT using eVisitor, try:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Setting label Height<\/li><li>Set to landscape<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Note on MS Windows idiosyncracies:<\/strong><br \/>Setting the Printing Preferences will set the printer properly for the current windows user only (Windows logon)<br \/>Setting the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Printer Properties \/ Preferences<\/span> will set the printer for other new windows users (other Windows logons)<\/p><p><strong>Troubleshooting:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Calibration: Press <strong>buttons 1 and 3<\/strong>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zebra.com\/content\/dam\/support-dam\/en\/documentation\/unrestricted\/video\/0002\/zd410d-20mmc-en.mp4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-uw-rm-brl=\"PR\" data-uw-original-href=\"https:\/\/www.zebra.com\/content\/dam\/support-dam\/en\/documentation\/unrestricted\/video\/0002\/zd410d-20mmc-en.mp4\" aria-label=\"Zebra how-to video - open in a new tab\" data-uw-rm-ext-link=\"\">Zebra how-to video<\/a><\/li><li>Factory defaults: Press and hold <strong>PAUSE + FEED<\/strong> while turning ON the printer until the Status indicator is the only indicator lit<\/li><li><strong>If you are getting multiple labels when you print, try these steps:<\/strong><ul><li>Ensure the sensor is in alignment with the left hand hole<\/li><li>Ensure the yellow roll brackets are not too tight squeezing the roll<\/li><li>Clean the paper path so the labels feed smoothly<\/li><li>Recalibrate the printer by pressing <strong>PAUSE<\/strong> and <strong>X<\/strong> for about 4 seconds.<\/li><li>You can try slowing the printer down to reduce initial slippage.<\/li><li>Ask to try our new black-bar labels.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-579696b e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"579696b\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-63d301e e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"63d301e\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-74837ae elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"74837ae\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4>Full Reset of Zebra, if needed<\/h4>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-300cfa6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"300cfa6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Note:<\/strong><br \/>This assumes that your Zebra ZD410 can work properly but needs to be fully reset, calibrated and tested. This is all done without needing a computer. Clean printer (Page 109)<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>2. Load Media (Page 30)<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>3. Set Movable Sensor (Page 33)<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Slide the Yellow sensor one notch to the right so it lines up underneath the center-most-hole in the labels<\/li><\/ul><h4><strong>Electronic settings<\/strong><\/h4><p><strong>4. Factory Defaults (Page 99)<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Turn OFF the printer<\/li><li>Press and hold <strong>PAUSE + FEED<\/strong> while turning ON the printer until the Status indicator is the only indicator lit<\/li><li>The printer configuration is reset to the factory default values. No labels print at the end of this action<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>5. Calibration (Page 37)<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>With printer ON<\/li><li>Press and hold <strong>PAUSE + CANCEL<\/strong> buttons for 4 seconds<\/li><li>Let it move the labels forward and back till it thinks it found the spaces between the labels<\/li><li>If it did not stop between the labels, go back to step \u201c5\u201d<\/li><li>If it DID stop between labels, press the FEED button and see if it can properly feed one label. If not, go back to step \u201c5\u201d<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>6.
