A color change reaction is activated when the red ink makes contact with the adhesive.
No, once activated the color change cannot be stopped.
How expiring works? A color change reaction is activated when the red ink makes contact with the adhesive.
What affects the timing? This color-changing process is both time- and temperature-sensitive. We have engineered the badges to remain valid for 4-6 hours at room temperature. Within 24 hours, the badges have fully changed color.
No, we only offer 1-day expiration.
Visitors sign in on their badge, then enter their initials, the date, and their “time in” on a stub that stays behind in the Registry Book. Before exiting your facility, visitors return their badges and enter their “time out” on the stub containing their initials. The confidential log beneath the label liner makes it possible to know exactly who is in your building in case of emergency (it’s easy to take the portable Visitor Pass Registry Book with you upon evacuation, etc.)
Our traditional Sign-Out, yielding eight badges per sheet (our most visible Sign-Out badge) features a full-size badge with the stub beneath it. Our SIDE Sign-Out yields ten badges per sheet (our most popular Sign-Out badge) and features a slightly smaller badge, with the stub to the left of the badge. NEW! Our Extra Small Sign-Out yields twelve badges per sheet (our most economical Sign-Out badge) featuring a small badge with the stub beneath it.
Yes. Our TAB-Expiring Sign-Out and FULL-Expiring Sign-Out products yield eight badges per sheet, featuring a full-size badge with the stub beneath it.
Our Visitor Passes use a specially engineered fabric-friendly adhesive for proper adhesion to clothing.
In most cases our visitor badges may be worn without damaging clothing. We do not recommend our badges be worn on silk, suede, or leather. You may offer your visitors badge tags.
When a visitor signs in on a badge, the write-thru technology makes an impression on the duplicate record. This duplicate serves as an audit trail of everyone who has been in your facility.
Yes, if there’s enough room, we can imprint a logo/school mascot and/or your organization’s name, in black, for no additional charge.
If a logo is involved, we will email or fax a proof of your design. If we are only imprinting your facility name, we will not proof your design unless you ask us to.
For “custom-printed” visitor badges, yes, you may have them printed with whatever title you want. For preprinted “stock” badges, the styles are available only as shown (typically “Visitor”, with a few other alternative titles).
We can add or delete any wording on your visitor badges.
Yes, customization is one of our specialties. Just ask for a quote. Manual Products, min 500 badges, typically ship 48 hours from proof acceptance. Direct Thermal Products, min 30,000 badges, turnaround depends on artwork. Contact Us for a quote.
A Windows computer with high speed internet access is all you need to run the software. eVisitor has an app which connects your computer to our cloud-based system.
1) Windows Computer – eVisitor apps currently run on Windows computers only. A general-purpose Windows computer with the following specs is all you need:
- Windows version: all Windows versions that are still supported by Microsoft.
- CPU: i3 or above. Must use INTEL or AMD processor. Snapdragon or any other ARM processors DO NOT work with label printers and can’t be used.
- RAM: 8GB and above recommended
- Monitor: Full HD(1920×1080) and above is recommended
- For eVisitor Kiosk, a Windows tablet with the above specs and touch screen is required (13″ Microsoft Surface Pro tablet is highly recommended). Must use INTEL or AMD processor. Snapdragon or any other ARM processors DO NOT work with label printers and can’t be used.
- eVisitor cannot be installed on a Windows computer in S Mode. S Mode is a locked down secure version of Windows, mostly used for Students or Teachers. S Mode will ONLY allow applications to run that were downloaded from the Microsoft Store. Users can switch their computer out of S Mode to install eVisitor. However, once a computer is switched out of S mode, it cannot be switched back.
2) Internet Connection – An internet connection with speed of 5 MB and above is recommended for smooth operation.
Installation and basic training typically take about 60 minutes and are scheduled by appointment. All are provided remotely.
- eVisitor is housed at one of the largest data warehouses in the world.
- eVisitor uses 256-bit SSL data encryption technology to move data through the internet. This is the same technology as on-line banking systems.
- The driver’s license number is irreversibly encrypted.
- There are no credit card numbers or other broadly-valuable information stored in the system.
We recommend one printer per terminal.
- Yes, eVisitor will read your visitor’s driver’s license or state ID using one our Driver’s License Scanners.
- We read driver’s licenses that follow the AAMVA standard.
Yes, eVisitor will remember a visitor’s Name, Company, Photo and Alert status.
We recommend you purchase a manual visitor badge sign-in book to use for off-hours or when your computer is not working. When the attendant is next in, he/she may log the registry book entries into eVisitor Software so you have a complete electronic record of your visitors.
Yes, eVisitor supports multiple terminals. You may have as many terminals as you want. Each sign-in or sign-out terminal requires a software license. Running eVisitor on an admin terminal for reporting and pre-registration is included with your initial license.

These reports can be:

To flag a visitor:
- Bring up the visitor (like you are going to give them a badge).
- Double click on the photo area.

- Then you can add a note to the flag. e.g. “Do not admit”.
- Click DONE to save.
- Now you can sign them in, or click “more actions, cancel”.
If a red flag is assigned to a visitor record, the system will not print a badge. This is an optional feature that can be turned on by request.

- For example, your badges can say “VISITANTE” instead of “VISITOR” on top.
